The Parish Council share the community’s anger and dismay at the condition of the roads in the village. We have been advised that NNC acknowledge that what is required is a complete resurfacing of Kettering Rd, High St and Northampton Rd but there is no money in the current financial year’s budget to complete this work.

As there appeared to be a lack of interest on the part of NNC to address the problems the Parish Council has been making a systematic survey of the roads and reporting all the defects in an attempt to escalate the situation with NNC.

This has had the effect of bringing the appalling condition of the roads to the attention of NNC Highways.

The Parish Council and your ward councillors continue to press NNC for a permanent solution rather than the endless patching that they typically carry out many of which fail very quickly.

We must acknowledge that many areas within NNC are in a similar position and therefore there is considerable competition for resources but we will continue to work as hard as we can to get Broughton as high as possible on NNC Highway’s priority list.
