What’s happening, where and when?

What: Essential maintenance works to improve the condition and structural stability of the carriageway and improve safety for road users. Works include carriageway resurfacing and installation of new road markings. Gullies located within the works extents will be cleaned and litter picking will also be carried out to ensure we make best use of the closure and to minimise disruption for residents in the future.

Where: A43 Kettering Road, Walgrave (Walgrave junction)

Date: Monday 17 April – Sunday 23 April Times: 20:00 – 06:00

Traffic Management: Works will be carried out using a full road closure between junctions Red House Lane and Broughton roundabout. A fully signed diversion will also be in place during the works, as shown on the map below. The red line shows the road closure extents, and the blue line shows the diversion route. The road will be open as usual outside of the working hours stated above.

Residents/Businesses: Any residents/businesses within the road closure shall be allowed access/egress which will be controlled by our traffic management operatives who will be situated at the road closure points. Whilst we wish to cause minimal impact, access/egress will only be allowed when it is safe to do so for residents and our work force. We ask for your patience while we stop work to ensure it is safe to allow access into the site.

Public Transport: Please contact Stagecoach for further information on alternative routes.

Emergency Vehicles: Emergency vehicles will be granted access through the site at all times.

Pedestrians/cyclists: There is a small section of footway that won’t be closed, but pedestrians will be monitored and stopped before crossing. The road is closed to all vehicles including cyclists.
